IX) Further Outlook: Additional Possible Faculties and Departments

In later phases the university can be expanded, depending on available financial means and existing interest above all in the addition of further faculties and departments. An internal structuring in faculties and departments could look as follows (departments of the first stage are in italics):

  • Humanities Faculty
    • Dept. of Literary Studies and Linguistics
    • Dept. of History and Archaeology
    • Dept. of Ethnology and Cultural Sciences
  • Natural Scientific Faculty
    • Dept. of Physics
    • Dept. of Chemistry
    • Dept. of Biology
  • Medical Faculty
    • Dept. of Human Medicine
    • Dept. of Dentistry and Dental Technology
    • Dept. of Pharmacy
  • Technical Faculty
    • Dept. of Engineering Sciences
    • Dept. of Agricultural Sciences
    • Dept. of Environmental Engineering
    • Dept. of Tourism and Hotel Industry
    • Dept. of Media Studies and Communication Design
    • Dept. of Informatics
  • Economic-Sociological Faculty
    • Dept. of Economics
    • Dept. of Social Sciences
    • Dept. of Political and Administrative Sciences
  • Arts Faculty
    • Dept. of Visual Arts
    • Dept. of Music
    • Dept. of Sports and Artistry

If the university is successfully established in the region of Khartoum, we will also attempt to establish branch campuses in the mid-term, to be based on practical oriented degree programmes. This would serve the interest of a higher education system throughout the country, including structurally weak regions (especially South Sudan and Darfur).

One additional long-term goal would be to establish distance learning degree programmes. This would require an assessment of technical preconditions and practicability.
