I) Faculties and Departments
b) The Technical Faculty
In the starting phase the following departments with corresponding concentrations should be established in this Faculty:
- The Department of Agricultural Sciences
- The Department of Environmental Engineering
- The Department of Media Studies and Communication Design
- The Department of Informatics
The concentrations will include six semesters of bachelor’s level studies. The graduates will obtain the academic degree Bachelor of Science. In addition to the language examinations the individual concentrations in the mathematic-natural scientific area can require that students successfully complete additional examinations to the extent that the conventional standard in Sudan is not equal to that of Europe. Discipline-based skills however are particularly importance for the discipline. In the framework of the preparatory year students can take preparatory courses for such examinations in addition to the language courses. Details are to be found in the departmental regulations for concentrators.
In the framework of the Technical Faculty a two-year advanced and specialized master’s programme can follow the bachelor’s. A thesis project to be completed within a period of four months culminates the programme in addition to the other required examinations.
Successful completion of the master’s degree qualifies the student for the doctoral degree programme.
