I) Faculties and Departments
a) The Humanities Faculty
This faculty will consist solely of a Department of Linguistics during the start-up period of the university. It should however for the purpose of better structuring start out with the following sections:
- The Section for Semitic Languages
- The Section for African Languages
- The Section for Contemporary European Languages
The courses of study include a six-semester bachelor’s programme. The graduates obtain the academic degree Bachelor of Arts (BA).
In the framework of the Technical Faculty bachelor’s level studies can be followed by a two-year advanced and specialized master’s programme. A thesis project, to be completed within a period of four months, completes the programme (in addition to the other required examinations) and is linked to a Master of Arts degree (MA).
The successful completion of that degree qualifies the student for the doctoral degree programme which when concluded successfully results in the awarding of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
