1) Research and Teaching

In accordance with the basic principles of the Nihal European University in Sudan the application of knowledge will play a special role in the Economics-Sociology Faculty. Since the University plans to have close contacts with industry, it seems important to have such a focus. Students in the Economics-Sociology Faculty of the Nihal European University in Sudan will be educated according to the highest international standards.

Research foci will clearly be determined by the direction taken by professors and lecturers in the framework of their teaching and their research agendas, inasmuch as the latter are subject to the modalities established for hiring faculty:

  • Particularities of the economy in Sudan
  • Structural problems of social and economic transformation in Sudan, Africa and the Arab world

By means of its basic orientation teaching in the Economics-Sociology Faculty should provide students with the skills necessary for successful activity throughout the course of their professional lives. It will not be limited to the teaching of up-to-date content, but will focus on instruction in theoretically-informed concepts and methods that will outlast current trends to the greatest extent possible.
