Concept – Part C: Educational Principles and the Profile of the Nihal European University in Sudan
II) The Profile of the Nihal European University in Sudan
b) Mediator Function
The Nihal European University in Sudan should play a special mediating role, based on its sociocultural and geographical position, in the international exchange of knowledge, teachers, researchers and students. In constructing facilities, creating curricula and appointing scientific personnel the university will have to insure that it fulfils this role in multiple ways of mediating between the Sudan and (in particular) Germany, Europe, the African and Arab countries as well as the countries of the Far East, especially China and possibly Japan.
The setting up of the university, its research and teaching activities and its future development will be guided from the start by both Sudanese and European experts working at the Nihal European University in Sudan. They will co-determine the scientific activities, curricular tasks and the intellectual level at the university. Especially during its initial period an expert commission of Sudanese and European personalities will be established who will work together to formulate the profile of the Nihal European University in Sudan.
In any event after its start-up phase the Nihal European University in Sudan will make every effort to employ scientific personnel from other countries at the university, thus strengthening and developing its international profile.
